Fissure Sealing
A fissure sealant is a tooth-coloured resin film that is applied to the deep grooves (fissures) of the back permanent molars and any other teeth that are vulnerable to tooth decay. The sealant forms a hard shield that keeps food and bacteria from getting into the tiny grooves in the teeth helping reduce the possibility of decay in these sites.
Fissure sealants are a quick and painless way of protecting your children’s (and your own) teeth from tooth decay and require no anaesthetic to be placed.
